The new feature on X showing where accounts are based have shown that many right wing X accounts pretending to be Americans are actually based in India. I don't think Indians running these accounts do actually care about right wing politics, those account holders are paid to pretend to support right wing politics. It is their job. Right wing American billionaires pay then low wages to sit online and impersonate Americans, to make it seem like there is more support for right wing politics than actually exists among real Americans. The billionaires do this because right wing policies always support the ultra rich. But less wealthy Americans may not support the rich organically, they must be convinced by being flooded with a right wing narrative into voting for Republicans.
